Ok so it's actually Tuesday but Design Sunday has been neglected as of late so I thought I would resurrect it on this gloomy weekday.
While bumbling around the internet an image caught my eye and I had to take a closer look in to the work of Dutch designer Elvira 't Hart. 'A collection of drawn pieces' I believe is her graduation collection. I remember in art school I was always told off for drawing too many 'sketchy lines' even though it was a style that just came naturally to me, I can't help but feel this is one of the reasons I was so intently drawn to Elviras work...
"...With my own drawings as inspiration my aim is to have the same look and feeling in my collection as a sketch. I find quick sketches to be the most interesting to look at: lines which end suddenly or parts that disappear. It leaves something to the imagination. Only essential information is given, you reduce something to only lines and surfaces of black and white. A drawing doesn't have to be finished or complete to give the viewer an idea of what is depicted..." (source)
